(LOUISVILLE, KY – April 27, 2026) – KFC Yum! Center witnessed a historic night of worship on Friday, April 24th, as Grammy Award-winning Christian artist Brandon Lake’s “King of Hearts” tour shattered the venue’s Christian music attendance record. With more than 15,000 fans in attendance, Lake broke his own milestone established just two years ago.

The record-breaking performance surpassed the previous record of over 11,000 attendees, set during the “Summer Nights of Worship” tour, featuring Brandon Lake and Phil Wickham in 2024. Friday’s concert marked the largest stop on Lake’s current tour, with no other venue expected to match Louisville’s turnout.

“Brandon Lake’s return to KFC Yum! Center demonstrated the extraordinary momentum we’re seeing in the Christian and Gospel music space,” said Eric Granger, general manager of KFC Yum! Center for Legends Global, which manages the venue. “To watch an artist break their own attendance record in such a short timeframe speaks volumes about the deep connection these artists have with their audiences and the growing appetite for faith-based live entertainment.”

The record-breaking performance reflects a broader trend at the venue, which has experienced significant growth in Christian and Gospel programming. The momentum shows no signs of slowing, as the venue is preparing for another milestone in July when artist Forrest Frank is expected to draw more than 19,000 attendees, making 2026 a landmark year for the genre in Louisville.

“What we witnessed Friday night was nothing short of remarkable,” Granger added. “Christian artists are filling arenas at unprecedented levels, and KFC Yum! Center has become a destination venue for these tours. The fact that we’ll see two major attendance records broken in a single year – first with Brandon Lake and now with Forrest Frank coming in July – confirms that faith-based music has entered a new era of mainstream appeal and commercial success.”

Brandon Lake, known for hits, including “Gratitude,” “COAT OF MANY COLORS,” and “This Is a Move,” has garnered multiple Grammy and Dove Awards throughout his career. His “King of Hearts” tour celebrates his latest album and has drawn capacity crowds across the country. The evening featured powerful worship moments and Lake’s signature blend of contemporary Christian music that has made him one of the genre’s most sought-after performers.
