UPDATE: Due to overwhelming interest and necessary competition time constraints, the KFC Yum! Center is not accepting any additional entries for the National Anthem Singing Contest. We thank you for your willingness to share your talent with us and hope to see you at the arena soon. Thank you for being a part of the KFC Yum! Center community!
The KFC Yum! Center is hosting a contest to determine who will sing the Star-Spangled Banner at the arena’s first ever NBA preseason game between the Miami HEAT and New Orleans Pelicans. The competition will be held on the arena’s Norton Healthcare Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 27 starting at noon and the winning Kentuckiana resident will perform at the October 4 game in front of a crowd of nearly 20,000 fans.
The contest will be judged by Mark Maxwell, Louisville Crashers front man and owner of Mom’s School of Music in Jeffersonville, IN, WAVE3 News Anchor Dawne Gee and the KFC Yum! Center’s NBA game spokesperson Robbie Valentine.
